What is an alert?
Alerts are designed as an important part of the various tools and features in the FleetMentor service. Alerts allow you to manage numerous dates and tasks; such as license expiration or registration renewal dates without requiring you to set-up reminders or watch lists.  You can turn your alerts “on or off” and on and specify how far ahead you’d like to notified of these important dates.

Note: An alert will remain on the dashboard (or unresolved alert view) until you open the record and update the due date.

Can I add or edit an alert?
No, you cannot add or edit an alert. Alerts are designed directly into the various tools and feature on FleetMentor to provide the convenience of notifying you of important expiration dates or tasks without forcing you enter a reminder for each one. You can specify how early you would like to be notified of these dates or tasks through the Manage Alerts area. Manage Alerts can be accessed through the Calendar side link or a link in the Personalize panel found on the homepage or main landing pages across the site.

What is a reminder?
Reminders are important dates created by you. While some tools include a “Set Reminder” function, most reminders are created through the Calendar itself.  You can add a reminder for anything you want, and also request to be notified by email when the reminder is due through the Manage Alerts area.

To add a reminder to your calendar, simply click the “Add Reminder” link above the calendar display area. The page that follows will require you to provide a date and subject line for your reminder. You may add additional notes if you wish.

How do I view, edit, or delete an existing reminder?
To view, edit, or delete and existing reminder click the link provided for each reminder entry. The subsequent reminder page will allow you to edit or delete the reminder entry.

How do I change the due date for an existing reminder?
To change the due date for an existing reminder click the “Change date” links provided after each reminder entry. The following reminder page will allow you to change the due date for the reminder entry.

How can I change my alert or email settings?
Email and alert settings are managed through the Manage Alerts area. This area allows you to specify how far ahead you’d like to be notified of important alerts as well as how you would like to be notified. Alerts can be displayed on your dashboard and calendar, and you can elect whether or not you’d like to be notified by email the day before an alert or reminder comes due. The Manage Alerts area is accessed through the Calendar side link or a link in the Personalize panel found on the homepage or main landing pages across the site.
