Monthly, topic-specific webcasts to be offered free to all members
Neenah, WI – FleetMentor™, the online toolbox and fleet management advisor by transportation industry leader J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc., held a Roadside Inspection webcast event on December 3, 2008 that attracted over 130 transportation professionals. The webcast provided participants with a general overview of the roadside inspection process and gave them knowledge and best practices on improving the outcome of future road inspections.
Throughout the presentation, J. J. Keller experts Thomas Bray and Timothy Evans engaged participants by asking various poll questions and answering questions submitted by attendees. One of the poll questions asked if the attendees track roadside inspection data, with 68% stating that they did.
According to Bray, “All roadside inspections should be recorded and tracked. There are several reasons for doing this. First, the tracking will provide a mechanism to make sure that any violations noted in the inspection have been corrected. Second, the tracking will allow the carrier to see developing trends in violations. Finally, it provides a database to be compared to SafeStat. Because of how SafeStat uses the roadside inspection data, it is critical that carriers compare what they know about their roadside inspections to what SafeStat has on file.”
